The Puff Pastry Discovery

Am I the only one around here that didn't know about puff pastry? I am I the only one that found out about this flaky, crispy dough that you just pick up in the freezer section of any grocery store just last week? I've never been a baker, but I think I can pull it off with pre-made crust! Yea... it's cheating, I know. But it turns out so good every single time! My family is starting to get sick of me over feeding them because I've been over zealous with my new found love of food blogging. But I wanted to use up some of that puff pastry so I made a pear and creme tart with cinnamon. Soooooooooo good! I also made 1 pastry puff cup (yea, just one) with spinach, bacon, and cheese. I find myself looking for any excuse to make something and post it on my silly wannabe foodblogger site. I'm officially hooked.

Yes, you're indeed the only one who didn't know about puff pastry LOL! I use it once in a while. I bake a ton, but I'm terrible at crust so it's a lifesaver!

It was hot today. I can't believe you were baking :) I get extremely over excited about my blogging too... It can be a bit awkward taking pictures at restaurants but I just don't care anymore. This is my passion, everyone has to put up with it hahaha :)

Lina I can't believe it! You made just one? Did you forget about me :))Haha. I'm more of a savoury filling girl so the second one it's right down my alley.
Believe it or not I started using bought puff pastry not too long ago and buy a pack weekly ever since.

Lina,
Thanks for stopping by my blog! The gratitude journal is really great - it's perfect for those days where you get down, hear something crappy on the news, etc. It helps a lot when I need a pick me up that won't add another inch or so to my butt :)
I have yet to buy puff pastry, but only because I forget about it every time I go to the store. Now with your post I'm going to go directly to the store for puff pastry! It's so not cheating, I've heard it's a nightmare to make from scratch - they don't even scratch it on the Foodnetwork!

I love your enthusiasm about new foods! My trusted puff pastry recipe is a Martha Stewart one which I love,love,love...so silky and soft I could use it as a pillow!
